Who is at Risk?

Anyone experiencing difficulty falling asleep, waking often during the night, or waking up much too early may be demonstrating symptoms of sleep apnea. There is no absolute indicator but any of these symptoms should be discussed with a sleep expert or your physician. Find out the three things you can do to determine if you are at risk. If any of these symptoms sound familiar, you need to review the sleep apnea warning signs and consider contacting a doctor.

Although obstructive sleep apnea may be common in people who are overweight, it can also occur in people of normal weight who have physical characteristics such as a large tongue or other airway features that restrict airflow.
