SNORING
Is the vibration of tissue of the upper airway and the resulting sound, due to obstructed air movement during breathing while sleeping.  The structures are usually the uvula and soft palate.  The irregular airflow is caused by a blockage.  Statistics estimate as many as 50% of people snore.

•

Night time gasping, choking or coughing

•

Short of breath

•

Witnessed apneas by sleep partner

•

Irregular breathing during sleep

•

Un-restful sleep with awakenings

•  Sexual dysfunction

If you exhibit any of these symptoms please contact us for a home-based sleep study or further assessment by a qualified physician.

These are some of the treatment technologies associated with SNORING.  To get background info go to our Technology section or click on one of the links below.

CPAP - Continuous Positive Airway Pressure
Devices:
S8 Elite, S8 Escape, Tango, Everest 2, Breathe X, Remstar Plus, M-Series, 420 Series, 600 Series thermosmart

Bi-Level - BiPAP (Bi-level Positive Airway Pressure) and VPAP (Variable Positive Airway Pressure)

APAP - Auto Adjusting Positive Airway Pressure

Non-invasive Ventilation Defined - Sensing devices in this technology recognize a sleeping patient’s poorly functioning diaphragm (non-functioning respiratory muscles) and gives the patient a quick breath as needed. This may also include people with a non-functioning drive to breathe - such as patients with central sleep apnea.
