SLEEP APNEA TREATMENTS
CPAP - Defined
One effective treatment for obstructive sleep apnea is called CPAP or Continuous Positive Airway Pressure. With this treatment the patient wears a face mask connected to a flow generator that gently forces air into the nasal passages at a pressure sufficient to overcome airway obstructions and stimulate normal breathing for a better night’s sleep.

The airway pressure delivered into the upper airway is continuous during both inspiration and expiration. This is likely the most effective treatment for severe obstructive sleep apnea. CPAP can help to resolve daytime sleepiness, improve heart function and reduce hypertension.

Most importantly, one’s quality of life can improve quickly with this treatment. Some of the devices we recommend you review are: S8 Elite, S8 Escape, Tango, Everest 2, Breathe X, Remstar Plus, M-Series, 420 Series, and 600 Series Thermosmart. More details on these units, the manufacturers and the specific applications are found in our detailed Technology Section.
