Assisted Ventilation
Not all neuromuscular disease patients
will require non-invasive ventilation. All neuromuscular diseases
differ in severity and many individuals do not develop the abdominal
and diaphragm weaknesses that put them at risk. Although eventual
weakness is probable in the most advanced or severe cases, every
person responds differently to their disease and to their treatment
plan.

In the case of progressive ventilatory
weakness, assisted ventilation may be delayed with certain measures.
Many experts agree that the two most important measures to delay
assisted ventilation are effective coughing and regular deep breaths.
Progressive Medical can show you or your physician the latest
in non-invasive ventilation techniques. Find out what you can
do to delay or prevent disease-related breathing problems in our
